The course will be divided into two parts: in the first part the lecturers will give lectures and propose exercises on the epistolary sources indicated. In the second part, students who have attended the course will give oral presentations on the topics assigned.

Except for what is stated in the notes section, with regard to the possible ongoing emergency situation, the students who are not able to attend face-to-face lectures may access live-streamed lectures, with audio/video recordings available on the Moodle platform along with teaching material.

In view of the seminar nature of the course and its aim of introducing students to research, attendance is strongly recommended.

Esso sarà valutato secondo i seguenti criteri:

  • Conoscenza e comprensione degli argomenti;
  • Organizzazione, chiarezza ed efficacia dell’esposizione sia orale che scritta;
  • Capacità di operare collegamenti, approfondimenti e sintesi;

The degree of learning will be tested orally and in writing. Students will be asked to prepare a historical commentary on one or more epistolary sources; this commentary will be presented orally in the second part of the course and then submitted in written form to the lecturers before the lessons. It will be assessed according to the following criteria

Knowledge and understanding of the topics;
Organisation, clarity and effectiveness of the oral and written presentation;
Ability to make links, deepen and synthesise;
Ability to make comparisons and references with other epistolary and literary sources.
